Under the strategic goals of ISU, Nafees Memorial Library is committed to provide the highest quality of learning environment through innovative methods of retrieving, storage and sharing of information for lifelong learning. The library of the Ibn-e-Sina University is located on the Second Floor of the Academic Center and serve all students, faculty, and staff of our university. The library houses extensive collections in the basic medical, clinical, management, and social sciences in English and Urdu languages for supporting the curriculums of our faculties.
The university library comprises many resources like; hard and soft copies of books, bulk quantities of hard copies of journals and periodicals, internet access, computer work stations, printing facility, library web-site and literature search support to meet the program requirements of the Faculty and Students of Ibn-e-Sina University.
Table 1 shows the availability of human, physical and technological resources. The library has a seating capacity for 187 users, which includes study carrels and tables, and computer workstations, with following nomenclatures;

The institute library contains learning resources for the students of the Ibn-e-Sina University, which are acquired on a regular basis, based on the submitted requests from the faculty members, learning resource committee and students. The library has codes of conduct for the users and encouraged to accrue maximum dividend from library services of Ibn-e-Sina University.
The university library opens daily from 8:00am to 15.00 pm except on official holidays and weekends. The resources have been classified systematically. Borrowing and return of resources is supervised by library staff and they also help students to find the needed resources. Library holdings are catalogued and referenced in internationally agreed upon coding system of Dewy Decimal Classification Scheme. There are clear guidelines governing the borrowing of materials as well as the imposition of fines for late returns.
The central library has professional employees who assist and support the library users by introducing the library services to them and help them search the information they need. The infrastructure of Ibn-e-Sina University Library is updated for supporting all faculties.
The students, faculty members and staff attached with academic division and units of Ibn-e-Sina University has access to a wide range of learning resources. These resources are included on university portal, and web based click here learning resources. The University Management has developed a strategic plan that holds specific goals focusing on the integration of library resources and services into the academic experiences of the institute.
There is a large collection of books on literature in the library also. It is named "Gosha-e-Rahat Saeed", to honour Mr. Rahat Saeed, a renowned scholar and writer, who donated his collection of books to the library, and which makes the largest part of our collection. It is hoped that while keeping students and doctors medical knowledge upto date with collection of latest medical books and journals, the literature books will help them becoming good humans and citizens.
